The Billion PES084 is an economical switch providing data and power from a single point, using Power over Ethernet (PoE) over a single Cat-5 and above twisted-cable. Just plug into one of eight Fast Ethernet ports, that can be used for any 10/100 Mbps connectivity and four of which can supply IEEE 802.3af PoE. Advanced auto-sensing algorithms provide power only to 802.3af-compliant PoE devices, so no need to worry about damaging proprietary PoE or non-PoE equipment. What makes the device even economical to SMB users is it helps save energy by lowering down power consumption when no PoE devices are connected.
Flexibility in placing PoE-based devices
The BiPAC PES084 delivers PoE to any small business network that demands simplifying the installation of wireless access points, VoIP devices or IP cameras, which are usually set up on a ceiling or high on a wall away from most electrical outlets. The PES084 with PoE eliminates the requirement for a dedicated electrical outlet for devices like these, allowing the flexibility in placing PoE-based devices where AC power is difficult to access and lowers installation costs.
Easy Plug and Play
By using Nway protocol, the BiPAC PES084 automatically senses and adjusts for network speed, duplex, and cabling type. It is fully compliant with all kinds of network protocols, for easy integration into any existing 10/100 Ethernet network. For PoE, the switch automatically detects 802.3af-compliant devices and its requirement, and supplies power as needed. The rich diagnostic LEDs on the front-panel keep you informed of operating status of individual port and whole system.
